Having the Vicar for Tea

ok, not a Vicar actually, but a lovely, cricket-playing clergyman, which is just as good if not better.

The delightful Dave stopped over on Monday afternoon to break his journey to cornwall. He is the first blogger/imaginary friend I have met in Real Life (except the illustrious Herebe Monsters, but I knew him in Real Life before I began blogging, so that doesn't count). Even though I've seen photos of Dave over at LIAEMFC, it's much nicer to know someone in the flesh and blood and be able to fit a body to the digital persona. We passed a lovely couple hours chatting about life etc. and drinking tea. If only I hadn't burnt the scones.

Did you get a chance to say "More tea, vicar?" or other hackneyed phrased.

Hope that you had enough sherry and that you proudly displayed your 'No Papists' sign in a prominent place.

Really, FN, to juxtapose the idea of the clerical life and unseemly behaviour is a hackneyed device that would have no place on my blog.

Can I just clarify that there is no inuendo to be read into the heading 'Having the Vicar for Tea'. OK?
